Relay selection in Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks

چکیده
With the developing world of science, VANET (Vehicular AdHoc Networks) has been emerged as the most prominent field of research and obtained maximum attention towards it in the past decade. VANET is a wonderful technology which allowed the moving vehicles to connect and communicate with each other. VANET is an enabling technology to improve the road safety and traffic efficiency. In these networks, there are some roadside units which are used for transferring information. Considering where these units are installed, there may not be available energy supply sources, like electricity network lines. Therefore, these units can be equipped with energy supply systems using solar energy, wind power and Radio frequency. So energy consumption in these units are very important considering energy intake. On the other hand, increasing information transfer volume and taking into account the speed of transportation vehicles and the covered area in each roadside unit, using other transportation vehicles as a relay to transfer information to other vehicles are all so important. In this paper, we investigate the relay selection scheme based suitable vehicle as a relay, according to the energy consumption limit, the limitation of the coverage area of the roadside unit and the speed of the vehicles. The relays are selected in such a way that the largest number of devices requesting service are selected.کليدواژه ها
